The Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM) is a specialist agency that issues and manages debt, and makes financial investments, on behalf of the Australian Government. The AOFM has a strong emphasis on the professional development and career advancement of its staff and provides generous assistance for work-related study. The AOFM consists of a team of around forty who are based in Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle.

AOFM employment is under the Public Service Act 1999 and all employment decisions are based on merit. The merit selection process is based around the applicant's ability to meet the specified selection criteria for advertised positions.
