Learn a Lot from a Comment

We all knew that online writing is one of the choices to get great information. Well, if "you can learn a lot from a dummy, “then you certainly can gain knowledge from the smart and savvy writers on the numerous social networking and electronic article sites in existence today. And I do not just mean by reading blogs or articles.

The content and quality of many blogs and e-articles is second to none. However, as a one relatively new to the world of online publishing, I was mistakenly under the impression that the blogs or articles themselves were where the reading not only began but also where it ended.

BLOGS ARE ONLY THE BEGINNING
I have learned over short periods of time, though, that while the blogs or articles are invariably clever, engaging and informative, they are only the beginning. The thoughts of the author are oftentimes the catalyst for discussion and debate, particularly when the topic is a timely, hot-button, or industry related one. To me, this is where the real fun and opportunity to learn begins.

DON'T FORGET TO READ THE COMMENTS
I am certainly not taking a self-righteous stand, here. I am not proposing that in order to properly participate in the online community one must read each comment on a blog or e-article. For many, this may be quite impractical or even not all that interesting. I can tell you from my own experience, however, that there is just as much if not more to be learned from these comments as there is from the actual post.

We must remember that social networking and electronic publishing sites provide a forum for people with some similarities but with different specialties and from all over the world to share ideas. Much of this knowledge sharing, I have come to learn, occurs in the comments section. There are instances where I am reading a relatively brief comment and wishing that the author would expound upon it in a longer post.

Anyway, the advice from this dummy is to read the comments. Not because it is right, wrong or indifferent to skip them. I encourage you to do so simply because it makes good sense, and you will invariably learn something.

Tips For Blog Optimization

There are two main types of optimization for your blogs. One is on page optimization and the other is off page optimization. On page optimization refers to the things you can tweak on your blog for the purposes of optimization. Off page optimization refers to all aspects of seo that are not actually on your site. For instance, off page optimization can be link building.

In this article I would like to focus on on page optimization. This is simple stuff mostly but important none-the-less. Keep in mind thought that on page optimization is not critical in achieving a number one ranking in the serps. It is actually the off page optimization that matters most and indeed is the critical factor in how your site will rank. However, as I already said, on page optimization is still important so let's learn a little bit about it.

1. Title tags are probably the most important aspect of on page optimization. Your title tags are what show up in th search results and they also tell Google what your site is about. Google like title tags. You just need to make sure that you include your keyword in the title tag. That's it, nothing fancy. But do most bloggers do this? No. Why? Because most bloggers are clueless I think! You should always, always, always include your keyword in the title tag for each post you make.

2. Bold and Italics are important too. You simply want to make sure you bold your keywords as they appear in your post. Don't over do it as it will look spammy. Just bold a few here and there. Italics work too. See, Google looks for bold and italicized words as it scans your content. This helps tell Google what your site is about, just like the title tags. It's just that Google gives more weight to the title tags, but the bold tag is powerful too.

3. h1 tags are another way to help Google figure out what the content on your site is about. An h1 tag creates a sub heading in your content. This is much larger than just normal bold. You can use these tags to separate your content in to sections. Again, Google sees the sub headings in it's initial scan of your site. The bot scans your site kind of like a human would. It first looks from the top left on down. It notices the title and large writing as well as bold lettering and links. Just like we do.

4. Keyword stuffing is another nice way to optimize your blog. This is when you use your keyword repeatedly throughout your content. Some say that you shouldn't keyword stuff because your readers wont like it. I don't care if I have readers with the business model I use so big deal. However, you must use some caution when keyword stuffing. If you stuff too much then you might get penalized. This could mean that your page suddenly doesn't rank at all for your keywords. Avoid this by keeping your keyword density around %2 to %5.

These are four of the most important on page seo factors that you can quickly and easily implement right away if you haven't already done so. It's easy and effective but not critical. Remember, it is off page optimization that makes your site a winner or loser.

Should You Have A Blog?

What is blogging? Why do so many people now have their own blog? Why would anyone, including celebrates and business owners, ever have a blog? Blogs have evolved, however, into a terrific tool to promote anything. Businesses are setting up blogs, as well as individuals, who want to promote their products. Blogs are the perfect tool for anyone who wants a presence on the internet.

Using free blogging software, such as Wordpress or Blogger, you can have a site up in minutes. Spend a little extra time creating a header graphic and you can have a professional-looking site up in less than an hour.

Although many people are confused when they hear the word blog, that is beginning to change. Professionals have found that using a blog to communicate with their audience is a great way to build excitement about an upcoming product launch, keep their buyers informed about updates, or just simply communicate with the world. What an inspiring thought that is - to communicate with the world!

It's true, though, that a blog puts each of us in a spotlight for the whole world to find us. Within a few hours of setting up a blog you can have traffic coming to visit. With a good ping list you simply make a post and dozens of sites are told (pinged) that you have added content to your blog. It really is that simple.

Another way to get traffic is to make relevant comments on other blogs with your blog's URL listed with your name. You can also go to answers.yahoo.com and answer questions in your field, again leaving your blog's URL with your name. If your answer is good, people will be inclined to visit your site to see what else you are saying about the topic.

If you regularly post, get links coming to the site, and provide good, solid content, you should succeed in getting a decent amount of traffic within a short time. There are blogs that are getting about 100 visitors a day after 3 months online and there are blogs getting a million visitors a day after a year. It depends a lot on the number of people interested in the topic.

Monetizing a blog is not hard. If you are selling a product then you will be focused on promoting your product. Don't provide the visitor very many choices except to buy your product. In other words, don't have Adsense or affiliate products on prominent pages. Place them on pages that visitors end up on if they are not interested in your product.

If you don't have a product then you can use an assortment of money-makers such as Adsense, Chitika, and affiliate products. If you go this route, don't depend on just one revenue source. Have several affiliate products, Clickbank products, and pay per click advertising.

There is no reason why anyone with a computer and an internet connection could not make money with a blog. It is very simple. The blog does most of the work. All you really have to do is set it up and then post interesting content. Don't put it off another day.

Monetizing a blog is very easy to do by incorporating Google Adsense into it and joining affiliate programs and placing banners where they can be seen. As an affiliate whenever somebody buys a product from a website that they come to from your banner you earn a commission.

Learning how to optimize an article for search engines is an important trick to learn. It is actually very easy and you want to target specific keywords in the title, and in the introduction and closing paragraphs. The rest of your article should be written naturally and really only needs to be 250 to 300 words to be effective.

Manual Traffic Exchanges

While there are a lot of ways to bring additional traffic to your website, manual traffic exchanges are one great choice. This is a great way to bring additional traffic to your site, and as we all know, more traffic means more sales or advertising revenues. If you have previously done this by hand, requesting links from individuals or businesses, you can save yourself time with manual traffic exchanges.

How does a manual traffic exchange work? It is really quite simple. You visit sites on the traffic exchange and in return, you get visitors to your site. Many manual traffic exchanges are also great communities with forums, games and more to make this not only an effective way to bring visitors to your site, but also to have fun while you are improving your own websites. More traffic to your site will help improve your site revenue or community.

Carefully read through FAQs and terms of use to be sure that you are comfortable with the manual traffic exchange you have chosen.

Some manual traffic exchange sites allow you to exchange a variety of types of links. There are text exchanges, graphic ads and even banners. With this great array of advertising options, nearly anyone can benefit from using a manual traffic exchange. Most manual traffic exchanges are free, or quite inexpensive, so they can also be good during that stage of web site development when you may well have more time than money.

Web promotion is often most successful when you use a multi tiered strategy. Search engine optimization, back linking, and manual traffic exchanges can all work together to make your site a success. This is true regardless of the type of site you own. More visitors to your site will mean more sales in your store, more clicks for your ads, or more people in your community or learning from information offered. Whatever kind of site you own, participating in a manual traffic exchange is a good way to bring additional targeted traffic to your site.

Link Popularity: Wrong Approach to a Right Strategy

No wonder many of us count link popularity as a game of numbers. As wining the game is directly proportionate to greater number, similarly getting back links from number of sites is a good solution to rank high in the search engines. Number matters the most, is it really true?

Most of us evaluate the popularity through search engine results so we must look on back links of the top ten sites. Now what’s the result? Do they have large number of back links? After the great inspection you must get a no, but then suddenly, a big question will arise in your mind - “What’s the factor behind the high ranking of these sites?“ Do they have different strategies or they follow the same differently? Yes, now you have reached the solution through your question itself. They follow the same strategy that is Link Popularity however their approach towards it is different. They choose those sites for link building that have most relevant content, high PR (page rank), and quality links. In other words, their back links come from trusted and relevant sites and this is the funda of their success of link popularity.

To carry a bunch of incoming link will not ensure your site’s top ranking. Back linking can help immensely if you link to the site ranked high in search engine. Spreading links over number of sites through article submission and social networking sites (blogs and forums) can also improve your link popularity in organic way. However it requires good content with high quality, relevant information and unique and eye catching presentation. If your content is full of these attributes, your link will definitely get weight age over others. But remember, for making it possible, you must have good content and present it in a good manner too.

Reciprocal Linking is also one of the ways to make your site popular and get large number of web traffic. Search engines do not count on this kind of linking, as it consider under the mutual partnership, but still it is in use because it divert the most classified customers towards your site. This technique of link building is equally important, as the end goal is getting targeted customers and goal conversion as well.

From SEO perspective it is worthless to waste your valuable time and effort in increasing the number of links. It’s better to focus on getting quality links form quality sites instead of getting quantity links form irrelevant and wrong sites.

Use Traffic Exchanges To Get Traffic To Your Website

To surf or not to surf? That is a very good question. I've been doing a lot of research on the effective ways to drive traffic to my website. Most importantly the free way. There are many free avenues to advertising such as blogging, articles, free classifieds, as well as traffic exchanges. When it comes to traffic exchanges there can be a fine line between wasting time and being successful in driving good, quality traffic to your site.

The whole concept behind traffic exchanges is surfing other people's sites in exchange for credits that will give your site views. For the most part, people that use traffic exchanges are doing the same thing you are doing: quickly surfing through as many sites as they can to get credits for their site to get viewed. From experience, I usually don't spend much time on each site and I'm usually surfing more than one exchange at a time to make best use of my time. Getting a great quantity of traffic will never be a problem if you are willing to spend the time surfing. Getting quality traffic depends greatly on the site which you are trying to push.

If your site is a specific product or service that requires a significant investment it will probably be overlooked. However, if you are advertising a site that provides free advertising solutions, a free affiliate program, a blog, site referrals, or an inexpensive product or service that will catch someones eye, you will have much better luck.

If you decide that your site will fit well into a traffic exchange, there is the question of which traffic exchanges to use and how to use them effectively. For starters you need to sign up for many different exchanges as you can find as this will give you a wider audience. Create an email address separate from your personal or business email because you will have a lot of confirmation emails as well as follow up emails. Also keep a notepad file with all of your login names and passwords. I've listed quite a few exchanges that I've found to be effective down below. You should also use all the features that each traffic exchange provides. This will give you the most exposure possible. Features such as banner and text link submissions will increase your site presence. Downline builders can help you get referrals that can net you credits or sometimes even money.

When it comes to surfing I suggest surfing 5 sites at a time. Not only will this help you use your time more wisely but some sites actually offer credit bonuses for surfing simultaneously. (see below) Surf 5 sites a day and rotate among the exchanges to make sure you keep a consistent level of credits with your links on each site. (Example: Group 1 on Monday, Group 2 Tuesday, Group 1 Wednesday, Group 3 Thursday, and so on) I haven't found a tried and true way to rotate and keep credit levels up, some sites will use credits faster than others, so trial and error will have to do. Finding out what exchanges work well together with counter times so you can flow from one site to the other quicker is also something that you'll just have to test. How long to surf each day is up to you. It all depends on the time you are willing to spend. I suggest being very careful as in some weird way it can become a little addictive. I usually allot myself an hour or less each day.

I wish you the best of luck in using traffic exchanges as an effective way of driving traffic to your website. Remember that just because your site is getting hits that doesn't mean that people are really paying attention, let alone signing up for your product or service. Hits aren't enough to make traffic exchanges worth the effort. If you find that they are not significantly helping your bottom line then traffic exchanges may not be worth your time.

To surf or not to surf? That's up to you. Be smart, give it a try and give it some time. You might find that traffic exchanges may be just the thing that your advertising mix needed.

Ways To Get Traffic To Your Blog

There are as many theories on the best approach to Internet Marketing as there is theories on which is the best religion. Like religion, I personally believe that you should choose a vehicle that is comfortable to you to get to your destination. Your destination as an Internet Marketer should be making enough money off your efforts to be independent and answer to no one.

Of course it takes a lot of time, energy, and effort to get to this point. Anybody who tells you different is flat out misleading you in my opinion. Even the masters of this game have already spent years in the business and have paid their dues. But one point most agree on, regardless of methodology, is that you need traffic. No matter what you are selling or how you are selling it, you are not selling it without traffic.

If you are like most people, then starting out means you are probably low on cash. It is only logical, because the biggest group of people that get into Internet Marketing are people who are looking to supplement their income. Then when they see the potential, almost everybody then tries to make a living from it.

But back to the beginning. Just starting out usually means just above being broke. Which means you need to find ways to increase the traffic to your sales page at either low cost or better, no cost. There are 3 things that take effort on your part, but are free other than investing in your time. They are blogging, writing articles, and commenting on forums. All 3 are not only no cost ways to increase traffic, but they also bring targeted traffic to your sales page if you do them correctly.

Blogging.

Blogging can be broken down into the concept of logging perpetual content on the internet. It was created basically to satisfy a voyeristic need to show the world your diary. But since it has been on the scene, many marketers have realized the potential of this blogging. Using key words and narrowing it down to specific subjects, marketers have realized you can generate targeted traffic to other websites or sales sites by talking about a specific subject in a blog and send the people reading it to websites selling relative products.

The beauty of this methodology is that you can get your blogs hosted for free. There are several companies that will allow you to create a blog and they will host is for you. The are two main blogging sites people use, blogger and wordpress. Both have sites that allow you to create an id and login and then create as many blogs as you like. Say you create a blog called secrets of the dog trainer. Then you would put posts in there about dog training stuff and then send the people to websites selling your dog training books or somebody elses that you are affiliating for.

Writing articles.

Writing articles is a great way to send targeted traffic to websites. The premise is simple, in fact you are reading it right now! You write articles on specific subjects, in this case, cheap, low, or no cost ways to create traffic. So the fact that you are reading this right now only proves the power of writing articles to generate targeted traffic.

The thing is that writing articles scares a lot of people. It should not scare you. Writing articles, especially in a conversational setting like this, is real easy. You just pretend you are having an actual conversation with somebody. Tell them about your subject, except you are writing it down instead of talking directly to somebody. There are a lot of companies that will publish your articles for free. They also allow you to give a website in your author box, and yes, I have one below as well. In fact I think you are going to like my link, but that is the advantage of article writing to get targeted traffic to a website.

Responding to Forums.

The last thing to talk about to get free targeted traffic to your website is responding to posts in forums (although really you could do this to other people's blogs too). The thing is forum moderators take offense to people coming in and not contributing to their forums, but just posting comments with links in them. Do not be one of these people.

Look, if the forum is of the subject matter you are promoting, then being a part of the forum is only a benefit to you. You can see what others are talking about in your niche. You can contribute to the conversations. Then after establishing yourself as someone credit worthy, then you can start leaving relative comments to other posts with your links in them. I tell you this because if you just randomly start popping into forums and posting, you are not going to get traffic.

There you are 3 ways to get no cost targeted traffic.

Link Exchange Tips

Link exchange is one of the most popular ways how to get links pointed to your website absolutely for free. To get the best possible results this marketing technique must be done effective. In this article you will learn how to exchange as many links as possible in short period of the time and how to ensure they come from quality websites.

First, you should know there are two basic types of link exchange - normal and triangular. For example, if site A links to site B and site B back to site A, it is normal link exchange. This technique is very easy to handle (you do not need to run any additional website) and still very popular. In last years, many webmasters started to use triangular link exchange. It means that site A links to site B and site B does not link back to site A but to site C. The reason why some site owners prefer this way is the fact Google can recognize exchanged links and gives them lower value.

When you decide which type of link exchange are you going to use you should create a page where you will place partners links. This page should be one or max. 2 clicks from your home page. When you create it, you should start to Google for websites related to yours.

First, ensure you have found quality website. The site should be indexed by Google, have some pagerank and be related to yours. For example, if you run web hosting company you should search for hosting directories, SEO companies, web designers and not for pet sites. The partners site should not contain links to adult or casino sites to avoid bad neighborhood.

When you find some site where you want to have your link, follow these steps:

1. Link to other site from your link page first. Sometimes you will find HTML code with the anchor text and description on partners website.

2. Send an email to website owner with the location of his link. Explain why do you like his website and that both of you will profit from the link exchange.

3. If the site owner put your link online store the URL in excel sheet. Later you will need to check if your link exists on the partner site.

4. In case you will get no response in one or two weeks try to send friendly reminder. It may happen the other party is very busy but still want to accept your offer.

5. If the site owner does not respond simply remove the link.

6. Repeat steps 1 - 5.

Contacting other webmasters is only one of possible ways how to run link exchange. You can also let others to contact you. How to do that?

1. Put on your link page HTML code which you want others to use on their websites.

2. Advertise this page on webmaster forums (if allowed by forum rules).

3. People will come to your website, link first to you and then ask you for linking back.

This solution has one big advantage — you will get additional backlinks from the forums where you advertise. You can also try free classifieds and PPC advertising to drive link partners to your website.
