Having this hardware specification, people will certainly not be able to upgrade its operating-system to the latest version of Android 4.1.

Camera

The device only provides the main camera of 2 MP minus the existence of auto-focus and secondary camera for video calls. Using this camera, people can take image with the maximum quality of 1600x1200 pixels and record VGA video using the quality of 640x480p at 25 frames per second. The default browser supports for HTML and HTML5 web browsing and there are the built-in online services that include YouTube and also Picasa. For the wireless network and local connectivity, the device has been equipped with the Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 (mass storage device, USB charging and computer synchronization).

Battery

The standard battery of 1200 mAh contained in this smartphone can provide the talk-time of about 14 hours (2G) or approximately five hours (3G mode). This battery will provide the standby time approximately 520 hours (21 days) on 2G mode or approximately 380 hours (15 days) on 3G mode.

Price, Pros and Cons

The price range of Samsung Galaxy Chat is approximately $150-180. The advantages of possessing this handset are the sleek design, useful touch and type style and the good battery life. This phone is packed with all the features that you get in the phones with the price range of 10000/- plus an advantage of QWERTY keypad for those who have a clean hand in typing with the keypad.
The phone works fine with ICS. (haven't tried JB update till now)
Battery is a little worrying factor but that also drains fast if you keep on fiddling with the phone all the time else it gives you a good backup.
I was a bit disheartened with the screen resolution at the time of buying it but I promise that it will not give you a letdown considering its price.

Overall a complete feature packed phone and would recommend it to those who are looking for an android in the range of 5-6k.
